        The story of “Sleeping Beauty” is based on a real event that took place in fifteenth-century Italy. There was a woman named Caterina de Medici. She was very beautiful and her enemies were jealous of her. They spread a rumor that she was a witch and she was put under a curse. Caterina fell into a deep sleep but was later awakened by a prince. They got married and she became a queen.
